Amanda Brugel

Pointe Claire (February 27, 2010 (February 27, 2010) Toronto ON). Pointe Claire is a small community which is situated on the West Island, which is part of the Montreal island. The people who aren't familiar with this term tend to think it's a distinct island that lies west of Montreal but in fact it's a part of the city that's west. West Island is home to anything and everything that is found in the city of Lachine west. Amanda Brugel was born there however her stay in the city wasn't long. Brugel began her life in Courtice close to Oshawa. She wanted to become a professional dancer, but because of a huge expansion, she outgrew every one of her dancing partner. In an article from the Toronto Star she admitted In heels I'm 6'1 inch. When I grew out of my male counterparts, I resigned. Some former dancers switch into acting. In Brugel's situation, it was a suggestion by a high school drama teacher who encouraged her to go to take the next step. The teacher was the one who recommended her to audition as Anne in the school's annual production. She tried out and ended up playing the leading role in Anne of Green Gables. The Fine Arts Talent Scholarship led her to York University, where she was a theatre student and earned the Bachelor's degree in Fine Arts in 2000. Over the past 20 years, Brugel's career has seen her appear in over 60 TV and film productions. The most well-known role was as Rita (shown here) in the television show The Handmaid's Tale. Brugel is the only Canadian in the season 1 Cast of the show and was only seen on occasion, was the only Canadian.
