Alessia Cara

When she was 19, she released her debut single Here. This single received high praise equally from critics and listeners. The single peaked at the number 19 spot on the Canadian Hot 100 and Billboard Hot 100. Even Rolling Stone named it one of the best songs in 2015. The singer released her debut Know It All album in the year that followed. The third track, Scars to Your Beautiful was among five tracks that made it to the top charts on Billboard which included Canadian Albums Chart Billboard 200 in addition to Billboard Hot 100. The song was unique because many people related to the interview she did with The Rap-Up crew about how she struggled to learn to love and admit to her. Cara has earned a name for incorporating messages about emotional health, kindness and love of self in her songs. All of it is a result of her personal experience as she had to deal with issues of mental health as well as insomnia. According to a Reuters interview, the album has been described as challenging and refined. Her growth was aided by therapy and she encourages others to seek out help when needed. Alessia Cara, a Canadian musician, was born in Canada on the 11th of July, 1996 to Italian descent parents. When she was 10 years old her parents gave her a guitar which became the starting point of her passion for music. She began to cover songs that she liked at the age of thirteen to show that world that she had the skills and the courage that was required to become a performer. One of the songs Sweater Weather eventually got her discovered by a label known as EP Entertainment which allowed her to write and compose music for her.
