Christopher Peter Meloni (born Christopher Peter Meloni) is an American actor, most famous as a star of the popular TV show 'Law and Order Special Victims Unit. In college, he began to develop an interest in acting. At the University of Colorado at Boulder it was where he studied acting. Though he has been active on both television and films it is his characters on the small screen that earned him a cult admirers. The ability of his characters to appear on both sides of law has captured the attention of viewers. He was the character of the serial killer on the first TV show he appeared in and later played the role an NYPD detective. His small-screen performances are rewarded with numerous Emmy Awards nominations and PRISM Awards. The actor is famous for his blue-piercing eyes that have been the trademark of his character and has helped him in portraying tough characters with a sense of humor. He was featured in 2006 when he was featured in the People's magazine's Sexiest Men Alive list.
